This panel in the European Parliament is dedicated to discussing how the integrated & holistic perspectives related to cultural heritage could influence the employability and entrepreneurship skills of Youth and stakeholders and innovative ideas in the European context.
We aim at showing how cultural heritage might be a pillar of regional strategies in order to strengthen territorial attractiveness increasing tourism and population settlements.
Also, we aim at exploring possibilities how regional development funds and other EU funding mechanisms could approach this issue.
In addition to this, the event will be used to present the project “E-CUL-TOURS: managing Cultural heritage in Tourism” and engage discuss those issues with stakeholders. Also, the event will be used to present best practices.
The recommendations discussed during the event will be incorporated into a report providing fresh ideas, available on our website.

The multiplier event of the Project “E-CUL-TOURS: Managing Cultural Heritage in Tourism” is a Strategic Partnership in Higher Education which was held on Thursday 26 of April 2018 at the Dalarna University in Falun, Sweden.
Among the consortium of partners around 10 participating stakeholders were carefully selected in order to have people engaged who could provide a substantial contribution to the project.
The first part of the event was a presentation of the project to the stakeholders and 40 visiting students. After an initial introduction of the project, each partner presented the initiatives that some of associated partner of the project, like the Maritime Museum of Ílhavo and Strada del Vino Longobardo, are implementing in their countries.
The second part was a workshop with the stakeholders.
3 roundtables were made, and partners and stakeholder could discuss the best strategy for the development of destination based on cultural heritage.
Many interesting ideas came out of each roundtable, and each group did a small presentation on how cultural institutions, municipalities, universities, official authorities together with visitors and local inhabitants can work together to increase the number of visits and public involvement.
Genuine interest of the stakeholders was visible during their active participation in the event and was very satisfying for the partners.

Second Transnational Meeting of the project ‘’E-CUL-TOURS: Managing Cultural Heritage in Tourism’’ was held in Falun, Sweden on Wednesday 25 of April 2018. The meeting took place at the Dalarna University, our hosting partner.
The purpose of the second partners meeting was to present work of each partner, give feedback on the work achieved so far, discussion on book chapters and videos that are to be produced, and project management.
During the first part of the meeting, partners presented reports of their individual progress on writing a textbook for the Master Module on Managing Cultural Heritage in Tourism. This part allowed partners to define specifics on how to make videos, along with making a common agreement on how to review materials and how to publish them.
The second part of the event was a roundtable focusing on discussing all priorities, agenda for the upcoming months to reach set goals before the next meeting in June, in Brussels.
Partners also discussed the state of the E-Cul-Tours online survey agreeing to have reached an adequate amount of response to proceed to the analysis of the results.
This meeting was a perfect opportunity for the partners to get to know each other better, and to strengthen collaboration for future projects.
The survey is directed to all those involved directly or indirectly with cultural heritage management in tourism (managers / those responsibles for attractions or teachers).
